Now, as my steam profile tells me I’ve played Fallout 3 for far too long these past 2 weeks. Its not been the standard Fallout 3 either, i found a mod called FOOK. Basically it adds a bunch of modern weapons and incorporates them into the game, so you now have bandits walking around with Kalashnikov type rifles, and Talon Company Mercs with MP5SDs, which is all very nice, and considerably more dangerous, I got ambushed straight out of Vault 101 by a group of Talon Company, fully armed to the teeth with Flamers, MP5s, G36s and proceeded to hand me my ass on a plate. (Baseball bat vs G36…. its a tough slog)
After reloading I managed to avoid them and proceeded on with the game. Now, I'll add here the reason I was starting from the beginning was because I wanted to get the achievements. I’d already completed the game before hand, but hadn’t logged into Games for Windows Live (Piece of shit that is…) so no achievements were logged.
I began working though the achievements, going to see Ol’ 3 Dauug, and all that. Worked fine for a bit until finding dear old dad in Tranquillity Street or lane or wherever… It promptly stopped giving me my achievements.. I figured maybe it considered FOOK to be a cheat, and if I cheated.. maybe it wouldn't give me my achievements… So, the mighty Google came to the rescue.
Apparently, in Fallout 3 at least, GFWL (Games for Windows Live) doesnt record if you cheat or not, so it shouldn't have mattered. Very confusing…However, in the same post, it gave a code to give all the achievements….Once you know that, the entire game becomes totally pointless!
addachievement (then the number 1-56)
The entire game is now ruined for me as A) I cant seem to achieve the achievements Ligit, as GFWL doesnt seem to be responding) and B) Whats the point in trying if you can just enter a code? Ruined.. thanks Bethesda… thanks a lot.
And GFWL….Urgh…. if it had just worked……
